SD8 Announces New Leadership in International Education

School District No. 8 (Kootenay Lake) announces the appointment of Kent Tamblyn as district principal – International Education, effective December 2023. This transition follows the retirement of District Principal Paul Luck.

Mr. Tamblyn, an experienced educator with a diverse background in both international and domestic settings, holds a master’s degree in educational leadership, a bachelor of education, a bachelor of fine arts, and a certificate in digital technology. His career includes roles as high school principal at Columbia College in Vancouver, offshore school representative in British Columbia, and principal and vice-principal in China. He has also taught in China, Korea, and Penticton.

The district looks forward to the perspectives and experience Mr. Tamblyn will bring to International Education, and thanks District Principal Luck for his leadership and service to students, staff and families in the district and internationally.
