SD8 hosts Virtual French Immersion Information Sessions
Families in both Creston and Nelson who are interested in the Late French Immersion Program can now register for a virtual information night session. School District 8 – Kootenay Lake offers late French immersion as a vibrant and competitive program of choice.
Up to 60 students are accepted into the Nelson program each year, and a new program in Creston that can accommodate up to 27 students will be offered for the 2021-2022 school year. All students who have successfully completed the preceding year and are residents in School District 8 – Kootenay Lake are eligible to apply. If applications exceed allowable numbers, a lottery draw will be held if necessary.
This year, information sessions will be hosted virtually, and parents are encouraged to register in advance at https://www.sd8.bc.ca/programs/french. Information sessions will be hosted by Innovative Learning District staff and interested students are being asked to attend with a parent or guardian.
